What happens

Ethan is taking his fallen comrade's ashes home when a local sheriff mistakes him for a vagrant and hauls him in. At the station, they humiliate him, push him, test how far he'll go. He stays silent and takes it because protecting his friend's remains is what matters. Then the sheriff destroys the ashes. It costs him everything; or it would have, if someone from Ethan's past didn't walk through that door.
