What happens

Cleo Marlowe is a casting assistant desperate to get her film made. She tracks down Blake Wilder, a difficult movie star everyone else has given up on, and somehow convinces him to take the role. When paparazzi photograph her leaving his house, the story becomes that she slept her way to success. Her reputation craters; Blake, cold and guarded, starts showing up for her in public and private, turning the lie into something neither of them expected.
