What happens

Savien Thorne refuses to let Isolde walk away, but she's already decided to leave him. The reason is brutal: she was never supposed to be his, just a substitute for someone else. Before she discovered the truth, before she moved out and cut contact, she signed a three-year contract to be his mistress. Bankrupt and desperate, she needed the money for her mother's medical bills. The arrangement was supposed to be simple and finite. Then she became pregnant. His arranged fiancée made sure Isolde knew exactly what she was: a placeholder, easily replaced, never the real choice.
