What happens

Graham Archer wakes up as a low-level beast in a hostile wilderness, left behind by those who summoned him. He cuts a deal with the authorities to feed his evolution; they'll supply the prey if he'll consume it. The arrangement buys him survival and a path forward, but tying himself to their agenda means his ascension comes on their terms, not his own. Every level he gains is currency in a transaction he didn't choose.
