What happens

Jade Parker is trapped in a marriage arranged to line her family's pockets, one of many schemes to strip her of dignity and wealth. She could accept her fate. Instead she abandons her household and flees into the hills, where a crow becomes her guide to the plants and remedies hidden in the wilderness. The mountains offer her a way to survive on her own terms, to build wealth and protection for her mother and siblings.
