What happens

Queenie is kind and beautiful but voiceless, worn down by years with a man who gambled away everything. When Max wakes in that man's body with no memory of his old immortal life, he sees someone worth saving. He decides his first act in the mortal realm will be to build enough wealth to craft a cure for her silence. But wealth in this world means becoming ruthless, and the debts that killed his host body are still circling. To give Queenie her voice back, Max must become someone she might not recognize.
