What happens

Evelett Gray wakes up on an island where hunters prowl and nothing is safe. Water glasses carry poison. Gunfire echoes through the palms. She's been forced into partnership with someone called K, a stranger whose motives she can't read. The two of them are caught in the middle of something bigger: a pharmaceutical operation, something dark enough that people will kill to protect. Evelett starts finding threads, pulling them. Each one reveals another layer of the conspiracy wrapped around the island and around her.
