What happens

Jill Stock's father orders her execution to salvage the family's reputation. Once he was the general she adored; then war came and he abandoned her to fend for herself. She survived by becoming something her bloodline considers shameful, a courtesan in the shadowed quarters where she taught the other abandoned women to fight.
